Sing it, John Denver! "Home" is everywhere for me, I can feel it. Reminds me of the Rumi poem, "whoever brought me here will have to take me home." What a wonderful, wonderful life!
Tomorrow I am taking Sam on in the Boggle portion of our tournament. We are going to play a total of 6 games, with an intermission after the 3rd in which we are going to eat inordinate amounts of pie and turn the downstairs of his apartment into a giant fort! We had a couple of practice games over the past couple of weeks and he is the first person that I think I actually could lose against, which is frustratingly awesome. We've learned new words: tor, gluier, pho, rennet... there are more, but I can't think of them at the moment. Oh, and whoremaster. WHOREMASTER! Not pimp; whoremaster. Yikes. Today I am going to search for a onesie in honor of Lara, which I will wear during the fort building if I can find a good one. Later on in the week, we're going to create new Magic decks from his 1000 or so cards to prepare for the Magic section of our competition. We also have a dance-off part, which will likely take place after the next couple of spikes at a Ladies 80s. Last night we went to trivia night at the Lumberyard (a local brewery) and our group came in 11th place.. but we won free Lumberyard pint glasses, which they normally sell for $10. The other Sam came as well--his fiancée, Sarah, was visiting from Florida and we gave her a good ol' Flagstaff time. Totally weird though--she is from Indy, went to IU and her parents met at the IU music school. They're getting married in Bloomington next summer and we talked about Bloomington for a good hour or so and I got to help a little bit with the planning, because Sam knows nothing about Bloomington except for his one visit there. Sarah is currently finishing up her studies in Florida to become an anesthesiologist, but she is obsessed with Bloomington. Made me happy to find somebody to talk with about my hometown! She and Sam don't yet know where they are going to live after they marry--it is likely going to be dependent upon where she can find a position after finishing up her Masters next June. Sam and I are about to be trained as ACLs in a few weeks and we are also going to be chainsaw trained. The other Sam just finished up his term as an ACL. Ack, too many Sams in my life!
Okay, I am off to make pies and find a onesie. It is sunny and going to be 75 in Flag today. Yippee!
