Romantic Sponges

Sitting with Muck at Sam's place. I adore this dog--he is one of the leaning types that always is attached to a person, and he has decided I'm a pretty decent friend since I'm around him and Sam a lot. Totally mutual feelings!

Email attachment from Dad. Bwahahaha! Good question!

Today I spoke with two men in particular who have greatly influenced my heart and mind, one over the past couple of years and the other over the past couple of months. I find that I often learn and experience more in the quiet moments after conversation than during conversation itself. I am grateful for the words and for the silence.

People are so wonderful!

One Who Can Quit Seeing Himself

I look for one simple and open enough
to see the Friend, not an intelligence

weighing several perspectives. I want
an empty shell to hold this pearl, not

a stone who pretends to have a secret
center, when the surface is all through.

I want one who can quit seeing himself,
fill with God and, instead of being

irritated by interruption and daily
resentments, feel those as kindness.
